Earlier today, the District Cheif Executive Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, at the Ministry in Accra. The primary objective of this high-level engagement was to fortify the existing relationship between the Ministry of Education and the Atiwa East District Assembly, while actively advocating for accelerated developmental support for our local schools.

During the constructive discussions, I brought to the Minister’s immediate attention several critical educational infrastructure challenges currently facing our district. Central to these concerns is the urgent need to expedite work on all stalled GETFund projects within Atiwa East.

Specifically, we deliberated on the following priority projects:

* Anyinam TVET Complex: The stalled construction of the dormitory, dining hall, and classroom blocks, which are vital to unlocking technical and vocational education opportunities for our youth.

* Adasawase Methodist School: The completion of the primary school building infrastructure to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for the pupils.

* Enyiresi and Sekyere Schools: Addressing structural deficits and classroom congestion across basic and junior high facilities within these communities.

I emphasized to the Honorable Minister that the swift resolution of these infrastructure bottlenecks remains essential to delivering quality education and improving academic outcomes across Atiwa East.

In response, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu expressed profound appreciation for our proactive approach and reaffirmed the Ministry’s firm commitment to prioritizing Atiwa East in its nationwide intervention program. He assured me that immediate steps will be taken to reactivate stalled GETFund projects and address the specific infrastructural constraints raised.

The Atiwa East District Assembly remains resolute in its determination to lobby, partner, and deliver modern educational facilities for every child in our district. We will continue to follow up closely with the Ministry to ensure these assurances translate into actionable progress on the ground
