The Atiwa East District has taken a significant step toward safeguarding its water bodies, as the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim, convened a strategic meeting with the Ghana Blue Water Guard team earlier today.

The meeting, held at approximately 12:05 p.m. at the District Assembly Hall, was chaired by the DCE in his capacity as the District Head of Operations for the Ghana Blue Water Guard initiative.

The primary objective of the meeting was to review and refine operational strategies aimed at protecting rivers and other water bodies across the district. Discussions centered on strengthening monitoring mechanisms, improving field coordination, and enhancing responsiveness to emerging threats, particularly illegal activities that endanger water resources.

In addition to strategy review, the meeting also provided a platform to address grievances raised by team members. Participants openly shared operational challenges, with leadership offering guidance and reassurance to ensure improved efficiency and morale within the task force.

Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim emphasized the critical importance of preserving water bodies for both present and future generations. He reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the Ghana Blue Water Guard with the necessary coordination and leadership to achieve its mandate.

The DCE further urged members to remain vigilant and dedicated to their duties, noting that the success of the initiative depends largely on discipline, teamwork, and community collaboration.

The meeting was witnessed by the Information Services Department, recognized as the government’s “ears and eyes” at the grassroots level across districts nationwide. Their presence underscores the importance of effective communication and public awareness in advancing government initiatives.

The renewed strategies and addressed concerns are expected to enhance the effectiveness of the Ghana Blue Water Guard in Atiwa East. With strengthened coordination and stakeholder engagement, the district remains poised to make meaningful progress in protecting its vital water resources.
