The Atiwa East District Assembly has conducted a general cleaning exercise within its premises as part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental cleanliness, discipline, and a healthy working environment for staff and visitors.

The exercise, which took place on Friday following a stakeholder engagement with hotel operators in the district, was organized through the Assembly’s Human Resource Department in collaboration with local authorities. It focused strictly on the Assembly premises and its immediate surroundings.

The initiative formed part of the Assembly’s broader commitment to environmental responsibility and complements recent efforts aimed at strengthening development control, improving sanitation standards, and promoting orderly administration within the district.

Staff members, together with local authority representatives, actively participated in sweeping offices and courtyards, clearing waste, and ensuring that the entire Assembly compound was kept clean and well-organized. The exercise also sought to set an example for the wider community on the importance of maintaining clean public spaces.

Officials noted that maintaining a clean institutional environment is essential for efficiency, professionalism, and public confidence in service delivery. They emphasized that cleanliness within the Assembly premises reflects the broader values the institution seeks to promote across the district.

The Information Services Department, which observed the exercise, reaffirmed its role in documenting and informing the public about government activities and development initiatives. The Department encouraged other institutions and communities within the district to emulate similar practices to support national sanitation and environmental health goals.
