Following the Hon. DCE’s visit and report to the Honorable Minister of Health on the 3rd of August 2026, regarding stalled infrastructure projects in our district—specifically GETFund educational facilities and the Enyeresi Government Hospital— Hon. Ernest Owusu Ntim was pleasantly surprised when guests from the Ministry arrived right at my office just 48 hours later!

In prompt response to our appeal, the Minister of Health, Hon. Kwabena Minta Akandoh, acted with incredible speed by dispatching a specialized technical team alongside the contractor to conduct an immediate site inspection and execute a technical handover.

Supervised by Madam Joyce Oppong, representing the Ministry of Health, the facility was officially handed over technically to the District, and in turn to the hospital administration. On the day of inspection, the district delegation—including myself, the District Coordinating Director, the District BNI Commander, and a representative from the District Health Directorate—toured the facility alongside the technical team.

While full official access awaits final commissioning by the Minister, key completed and fully stocked blocks have been opened so our medical staff can immediately begin caring for incoming patients.

Key Highlights of Our Inspection Tour:

🏥 Newly Opened Modern Units:

* 👶 Children’s Ward

* 🤱 Delivery Room

* 🩺 Surgical Operating Theaters

* …and several other critical treatment spaces.

🛠️ Rehabilitating Existing Infrastructure:

We also toured the old hospital facility, which is currently undergoing full rehabilitation to complement the new block and significantly boost overall patient capacity.

🎨 Final Touch-Ups Underway:

The contractor has assured us that all remaining minor upgrades will be completed within a few days prior to the official commissioning. These final works consist mainly of repainting discolored or fading wall sections, as well as fixing minor electrical fittings, bulbs, and sockets.

This dual focus—putting modern facilities to immediate use while completing final touch-ups and existing rehabs—ensures our community gets the high-quality, fully safe healthcare environment it deserves.

Thank you to the Ministry of Health, Madam Joyce Oppong, our District Coordinating Director, the District BNI Commander, our Health Directorate rep, and the entire team for moving so swiftly to turn our visit into visible results!
