I was delighted to welcome regional directors, principals, and key stakeholders to Anyinam as Atiwa East hosted the 2026 Eastern Regional Conference of Principals of Technical Institutions at the Anyinam Applied Technology Institute!
It is time to completely dismantle the outdated perception that TVET is a second-best option for academically weak students. In an era where youth employment is crucial, practical and vocational education is the surest pathway to equipping our young people with hands-on skills to build businesses, innovate, and thrive.

To make technical education a top choice in our district, I am committing to key local actions:
Community & School Engagement: Partnering with local institutions to conduct district-wide TVET sensitization campaigns for basic school students.
Local Industry & Production Support: Directing District Assembly opportunities (such as dressmaking, carpentry, and food production) to our technical schools to boost student practical experience and generate local revenue.
Expanding Opportunities: Encouraging technical institutes to enroll youth currently in informal apprenticeships to upgrade their skills formally.
Resolving Infrastructure Gaps: Following my recent engagement with the Minister for Education, I received positive assurances regarding stalled infrastructure projects at the institute to ensure a conducive learning environment.
Let us champion technical education as a driving force for sustainable economic growth across our district and nation.
