

The Atiwa East District Assembly has taken another significant step towards improving educational infrastructure within the district by cutting sod for the construction of a 6-unit ultramodern classroom block for the Anyinam Islamic Primary School. The ceremony took place on Friday, 14th November 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in the heart of Anyinam Zongo.
The ceremony, moderated by the information services department (ISD) witnessed the presence of the District Coordinating Director (DCD), Mr. Paul Acquah, traditional authorities, leaders of the Zongo community, officials of the District Assembly, and community members
Addressing the gathering, the DCE emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to improving access to quality education throughout the district. He noted that the new classroom block will help reduce congestion, provide a more conducive learning environment, and support the growing population of schoolchildren in the Zongo community. According to the DCE, the project will be executed within the stipulated contract duration to ensure timely delivery.
Hon. Owusu Ntim emphasized that education remains a top priority for the district, stressing that modern facilities are essential in shaping the future of young learners. He assured the community that government resources are being directed towards areas where they are most needed.
Traditional and Zongo leaders expressed their gratitude to the District Assembly for prioritizing the community’s needs. They described the project as a timely intervention that will significantly improve teaching and learning outcomes. They also pledged their full cooperation to ensure the smooth execution of the construction works.

The sod cutting was done by the Hon. DCE and community leaders, symbolizing the official commencement of the project till it completion. The necessary project documents were subsequently handed over to the contractor to begin work without delay.
