
On the 19th of February,2021, the Atiwa East District Assembly in conjunction with the NBSSI supported fifteen (15) NVTI trainees in the district with start-up kits to enable them setup their business.
These beneficiaries had successfully gone through a two-day workshop training on innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship which aimed to transform these young people into successful, creative and innovative entrepreneurs.
The items included industrial/Sewing Machine, Iron, Lining Cloth, Zips, Tools Bag, Thread, Scissors, buttons, Towels, Hair, Dummies, Rolex, Tail Comb, Big Comb, Medium Comb, Scissors, Chapter 2000, Condition, Shampoo, Relaxer, Washer Sink, Wash Basin Stand, Stand Base and Dryer.
Presenting the items, Mr. Kwabena Panin Nkansah, the District Chief Executive lauded the government of the day for several programs it was rolling out to support the youth. He also thanked the department of community development for mobilizing the trainees and the NBSSI and Mastercard foundation for the startup items.
On the role of the Assembly in the area of skills development and training, the DCE said the Assembly with support of the Department of Community and the Ministry of local government and Rural Development since 2018 has trained and supported over 40 beneficiaries with startup kits under the Alternative livelihood programme.

The DCE urged beneficiaries to be patient and also take advantage of the plethora of government’s interventions which were aimed at youth development.
The Director of the National Board of Small Scale Industries, Osino office Mr. Francis Gyamfi told beneficiaries that the tools and equipment distributed as start-up kits would create direct and indirect jobs in the district.
Mr. Gyamfi thanked the DCE for the role he has played in developing skills of the people in the district. he said those who have been trained elsewhere had created jobs for other people too.
