The program was in response to a request made to the Office by the chiefs and opinion leaders of the community during one of its covid-19 sensitization visits to the community. Community leaders raised issues of teenage pregnancy, drug abuse and petty theft which has become a threat to the youth of the community and also affecting students’ performance and the community as a whole. There were also concerns of abandoned school projects, insecurity, health delivery and network challenges. The durbar was therefore to bring the relevant stakeholders together to address these concerns.

The programme was graced by some prominent personalities such as; Hon. Kwabena Panin Nkansah (DCE, Atiwa East), Madam Efua Afful (District Health Director), Mrs. Victoria Darkoa Bampo (District Education Director), Mr. Collins Frimpong Manso (Deputy Director, NADMO), Emmanuel Owusu and Jacob Asiamah (Social Welfare & Community Development), Mr. Saviour Ametefe (District Director-NCCE), Nana Barima Ampem Darko I (Chief of Aworensua), Hon. Ohene Ayisi (Assembly Member, Aworensua Electoral Area), Hon. Eric Nyarko (Government Appointee, Atiwa East District Assembly) among other dignitaries.

The durbar was aimed at finding solutions to social issues such as teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, armed robbery, health, and educational issues affecting the community. The event was to afford the people and the relevant stakeholders the platform to discuss these grievances and find amicable solutions to them. The durbar also gave the platform to the District Assembly and various departments to present their programs and activities aimed at addressing these concerns from the community.

There were presentations by the DCE, District Health Director and NCCE Director to educate the citizenry on the need to continue to observe the Covid-19 protocols and save ourselves from the deadly virus.
