ATIWA EAST DISTRICT joins the nation in the celebration of Ghana’s 65th Independence day.The Anniversary which took place at Anyinam R/C School park had on parade students and cadets from 15 selected schools in the District. Honourable Abena Osei Asare, the Member of Parliament for Atiwa East Constituency was the the special guest of honour. In her opening remarks, she congratulated the organizers for a good work done. She further appealed to the populace to embrace the E-levy introduced by the government to help mobilize funds internally for development instead of resorting to borrowings for development which come with so many conditions and interest rate. The MP further advised the populace to disregard information in the media which seek to derail the effort of the government in mobilizing domestic funds for development. The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Simon Asare who spoke on behalf of the District Chief Executive expressed his gratitude to the teachers and headmasters for their hard work which culminated into the sterling performance of the District in the just ended Basic Education Certificate Examination. He further advised the youth against the use of bleaching creams which he said posed a lot of danger to the user. Mr. Simon Asare also cautioned against unprotected sex as cases of HIV/AIDS is on the rise in the District.After the march past, Anyinam R/C School emerged winners and were awarded with a trophy,jersey,football as well as a cash prize presented by the member of Parliament.
