
On the 12 day of the month march, 2023, Atiwa East District Assembly led by the DCE, Honorable Kwabena Panin Nkansah engages the people of Sekeyere. The purpose of the engagement was to bring out all issues relating to the community from the people, deliberate and to bring out the best possible solutions to these issues and other relational matters. The event started at 9 am with a prayer
The DCE, in his presentation gave thanks to the traders for receiving the district and giving them the very intention, they need for the event. He spelled out clearly to the people of Sekeyere the needs for the community engagement, and reminded the people how Atiwa East district was carved out from Atiwa District and became autonomous from the hands of Kwabeng District Assembly. He continued to make emphasis on the school feeding program initiated by the President of Ghana being extended to 39 schools and still counting within the east district of Atiwa township. The DCE edged the people of Sekeyere to pay their property rate and market toll. He embarks the statement with reason of the district assembly coming to the aid of the community in times of urgency and other relational issues. The people of Sekeyere not having building permit from the district assembly before construction is one of the issues of the assembly said by the DCE in his presentation, and edged the people to do so as soon as possible after he clearly spelled out the need of having building permit before construction of building, and having the community layout planned for beautification and emergency sake. He further went ahead to enlighten the people of the Covid-19 negative impart on the world including Ghana on our economy and government policies laid down to reduce the impartation of Covid-19 negative impartation on Ghana’s economy. Upon all the negative impartation of Covid-19 on the world, said by the DCE in his presentation still the government implementation on Free SHS is still ongoing, fluctuation of electricity is now the thing of the past. The very last words of the DCE was the client service unit functionality at the assembly to the people of Atiwa East District.

The District Health Director, Maame Affua Affoe, in her presentation made emphasis on the lassa fever cause by rat urine, it preventive measures, and the dangers associated with the disease, including one person losing his life at Enyiresi government hospital. She also edged the people to participate in the Covid-19 vaccination after clearly spelling out reason of vaccination. According to Health Statistics, there have been an exponential increase of teenage pregnancy within the district said by the Health Director in her presentation. The statement was solidifying with a strong reason being increase in Social Influence via internet and peers, and to an extent negligence of parent to their children behavior, and it negative impact on teenage girls mostly. She made emphasis on the negative impact of hard drug to the body such as cocaine, “wee”, “shisha” and edge the people to abstain from those hard drugs.
The District Police Service Commander made a presentation and made emphasis on Road Welt Certification Registration of Vehicles and Insurance Payment, and made clearly to the drivers to always check the state of the vehicle whether is in good condition or not before heading to the road. Negligence of this is one of the causes of road accident. Pertaining to the Insurance Vehicle clearly state the need of it and it benefit when it comes to vehicle urgency such as road accident, vehicle repairing, and other relational matters pertaining to vehicle. The Commander also highlighted on some drivers not getting enough sleep, and drinking alcohol to drive, and over-speeding on road.
The District Fire Commander in his presentation made emphasis on the causes of fire in houses, such as electricity, gas and others. To the electricity edged the people to abstain from illegal connection, the use of infernal electrical cables for wiring of houses, and edged the people to go in for certified electricians from ECG for wiring of houses. In his last word of his presentation made edged to people to bring their building plan to the Fire Service Office for review to allocate emergency exist before construction of building starts.

- Ask for a Police Post in the community for enhancement of security
- Ask of the owner of the land around the decommission toll booth area
- NHIS Insurance not covering drugs at the hospital.
- Request the District Assembly to support for the construction of the event center.
- Asking for a clear and identified revenue collector within the community for the market toll to prevent multiple payment
- Renovation of the Preby Public toilet.
Below are some responds addressing the arose issues
- The land around the decommission toll booth belongs to the assembly and not private entity
- The District Assembly does not responsibly for the maintenance of cemetery
- Land was demarcated by the chief of Sekeyere for the construction Police post but was not fit for the construction based on the analysis of the Regional Police command after assessment.
- NHIS Insurance does not cover all drugs at the hospital but only very few due to the debt not paid by the government to the health directorate.
- District Assembly allocated 10 thousand cedis to support the event construction center at Sekyere.
- Edged the people to ask for official ID card and take receipt of payment of market toll or any other revenue dept.
- Awaiting for common fund for the renovation of the presby public toilet.
The event ended at 12 pm.
