The Atiwa East District Assembly on 26th June, 2020 held its maiden General Assembly meeting for its Second Assembly.

The Presiding Member, Hon. Samuel Obeng Asamoah in his welcome address thanked the Assembly Members for honouring the invitation. He mentioned that the organization of the meeting has delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak and that with the easing of restrictions on social gathering by the President, the Assembly had to immediately convene the meeting. He reminded the House of the Assembly’s mandate to improve the well-being of the citizenry and urged Hon. Members to undertake their duties devoid of any partisan politics or parochial interest and work in unison towards the attainment of the developmental goals of the Assembly.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Kwabena Panin Nkansah in his sessional address to the House welcomed Members to the first ordinary meeting of the Second Assembly. He informed the House of the delay in convening the first meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He reminded them of the impact of the pandemic on the activities and programmes of the Assembly and urged the House to double up its effort in making up for the lost period. He further congratulated the Hon. PM for his election and applauded Hon. Members for their support for a successful inaugural meeting. He also acknowledged the complimentary effort of the MP towards the developmental projects in the District

 Security
 Governance
 Finances
 Health
 Education
 Water and sanitation
 Spatial planning
 Infrastructure
 Economy
 Government flagship programme under Agric
 Social Intervention Programmes
 $ 1 Million Per Constituency/IPEP.

In concluding his address, he reminded Hon. Members of their mandate towards the development of their localities and urged them to work in unison towards that direction. He finally informed the House of the forthcoming voter registration exercise and admonished Members to support the exercise.
