
The leadership of the Atiwa East District ASSEMBLY led by Mr Simon Asare the District coordinating Director on 2nd June 2021 joined forces with the District Police command head by DSP Wiafe to engage Driver unions and market women to discuss the recent traffic situation in the District capital. Addressing STAKEHOLDERS at the meeting Mr Simon Asare explained to them what the Assembly intend to do in the short, medium, and long term to ease the traffic in the capital. He further cautioned drivers to desist from using the stretch of the road as parking and loading lodge because it hinders the free flow of big trucks and that the police will start to arrest those who goes against the traffic laws.

DSP Wiafe also at the engagement, advice drivers and traders to make sure that they corporate with the Assembly in implementing the plans outlined at the meeting to ensure orderly. He added that the police has recently prosecuted three drivers for TRAFFIC offences and that his outfit is not going to stop until the laws are obeyed.Honorable Samuel Obeng who is the Presiding member of the Assembly ended the meeting with a Christian prayer
