Edmark Rescue Foundation and Rainforest Alliance in collaboration with SWCD with funding from the Norwegian government organized a durbar to mark this year’s World Day against child labour under the team JUSTICE FOR ALL.
This year observation was held at Ankaase a community in the Atiwa East District on the 12 day of June 2023. The program started with a float where student and participant from across the district marched with placard through the principal street of Ankaase.
A durbar was held at Ankaase to discuss how child labour ca n be fully regulated in the community. Speaking at the event Mr. Boadi who is the Director for Social Welfare and Community Development made it clear that the event is intended to server as a catalyst for the growing worldwide movement against child labour.
Rainforest Alliance made a donation of many items to help improve teaching and learning. This includes 150 Notebooks, 800 Exercise books, 1000 pens, 420 Erases. 112 Mathematical set, 400 crayons, 175 rules, 72 pieces of Markers in 6 packs, and 200 sanitary pads. These items were received by the Master for Ankaase Presby who after receiving the items thanked the NGO and promised that his outfit will put items to good use.
