On the month of March 20th, 2024, Atiwa East district assembly witnessed trooping of a large number of hairdressers and seamstress from every corner of the district including part of kwabeng district into the assembly hall. Reasons for the trooping was an indication of the responds to the department of Business Advocacy Center (Ghana Enterprises Agency) calling for a sensitization program on the project business in the box (Bizbox).The event witnessed the presence of the District Chief Executive in the person of Hon. Kwabena Panin Nkansah, Mr. Shakil Kpedau Mahamood the District Coordinating Director, DSP Raymon Mahama Iddrisu the District Police Commander, Mr. William Aseidu Akrofi the District Director for Agric, Miss Edith Gifty Teye the District Director for BAC(GEA) and her assistant Ruth Appiah the Business Development Officer, Mr. Savior Ametepe the District Director for NCCE, Mr. Frederick Kofi Agyei the District Information officer, Mr. Prince Obeng Donkor the Right to Information Officer and the Assistant Information officer, Miss Perpetual Essel Kobar the Residence pastor for the Methodist Church Ghana in Anyinam, Rev Hackson Yaw Asante-Bamfo the residence minister for the presbyterian church in Aniynam, Assembly members from Anyinam, jejeti-aboi and Sekyere, and all heads of department, hairdressers and seamstress associations from all over the district, media, family and friends.The event was moderated by District Director for NCCE and the District Information officer Mr. Frederick Agyei assisted by Mr. Prince Obeng Donkor the assistant information officer / RTI officer.In speaking was Miss Gifty Edith Teye, the district director for BAC(GEA) and the managing director for the project Bizbox, expressed her gratitude and acknowledged everyone for making a point to be present on time. This was second to the purpose of the gathering. She said, mastercard collaborating with Ghana Enterprise Agency with a project Bizbox is here to aid individuals or associations with smaller enterprises, and/or engaging in agriculture in enhancing their skillset and knowledge, finances, and relevant items needed in boosting businesses to meet global market, and to reduce the level of unemployment in Ghana and in the world. In addition, she went ahead to spell out clearly the data or documents needed by the department to enable an individual or association to get registered. Some of the document(s) needed she said was National Identity card or any other document that captures accurate personal information, and if possible, business information inclusive.In speaking was the DCE, Hon. Kwabena Panin Nkansah acknowledging the presence of the dignities and everyone present at the event. He added, the project Bizbox is one of the initiatives implemented by the current government under His. Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffu Addo to reduce unemployment rate in Ghana by supporting enterprises in finances and enhancing the skills and knowledge in boosting local business in other to meet the international standard of business. Similar project was conducted under the department of Business Advocacy Center (BAC) in Atiwa East and across Ghana the DCE said, 70 people registered for the project. Along the way, majority of the registered participants dropped off. Reasons to that was having the mindset to collect a huge amount of money from the assembly to support their businesses without passing through the modules operandum structured by GEA. Others were dropped off on the bases of the modules operandum and could not performed during the implementation of the project. Finally, out of 70 only 12 participants were left, and were awarded. Some of the awards received by the GEA were industrial sowing machines, hairdryers, an amount that ranges from 30,000 to 4000 Ghana cedis, others got the opportunity to be trained by GMPC to enhance their skillset and to the point of attaining an NVTI certification.The DCE edged all seamstress and hairdressing makers and others who owns their own enterprises to put much effort, and be dedicated toward the business. The event paved way for the DCD to make a presentation. The DCD said, thriving in any business is as a result of one personal skills, and knowledge, dedication to the things you best in certain areas of business. Business Advocacy Center or GEA under Atiwa East district assembly, in collaboration with mastercard is willing to help individuals or association with business enterprises in any way they can with the purpose to become visible in the global market. The DCD added, the achievement of the purpose stated solely depends on the wiliness and readiness to respond to every departmental calls in terms of collection and processing of data, attendance to schedule activity programs, many more.The Assistant information officer and the Right to Information officer in the person of Mr. Prince Obeng Donkor, highlighted on the need to utilize Right to information Act 989, 2019 to their advantage in terms of getting the right and accurate information from their respective source in other to avoid misinformation. He added, reasons why most of businesses collapse is misinformation since businesses thrive on information and edged them to be aware of misinformation. The local authorities are ready to help everyone within the district in anyway they can, including information sharing, for what needs to be done in seeking information from the district assembly is by consulting officers in information department and it shall be done. The assistance information officer edged everyone to report anything out of the ordinary to the assembly via the information Service Department or to the Ghana Police Service, and to become one keeper in your vicinity
