The second quarter of the year 2024 staff durbar was organized on July 19th, 2024 to the compliance of the Local Governance Act 20216 (Act 936) by Atiwa East District Assembly

The event witnessed the presence of the District Chief Executive in the person of Hon. Kwabena Panin Nkansah, the District Coordinating Director in the person of Shakil Kpedau Mahamood, all local government staff, and the RTI officer Mr. Prince Obeng Donkor from the information service department.

One of the most highlighted remarks heard by the house, from the District Chief Executive, Hon. Kwabena Panin Nkansah is the image of the Assembly. He said, in his administration for the past 7 years till date since the establishment of the Assembly has been upholding the image of the Assembly in high esteem to his very best upon all the obstacles befallen him, and will continue to do so till the completion of his term of office.

For every successful person in life must testify to this statement as one of the strong indicators for every successful person in all disciplines, which is respecting all feedbacks from your subjects for your actions, deliberating on them for better decision making.” and so was his last words to his remarks.

The district coordinating director also took the house through some protocols within the local government service, specifically on the service delivery standard. Some highlights made on the event by the DCD was decentralization, devolution, evolution, delegation and de-concentration.

Professionalism, effective and efficient use of resources, participation, client focus, accountability, and transparency (PEPCAT) were the emphasis hammered on his remark’s to the house.

The event paved way for the RTI officer to educate the house on RTI Act 989, 2019. The house was amazed to hear what Act has installed for them when it comes to information seeking, the classes of information and what a person is/are entitled to have access when subjected to the Act, the deferrals, transfer of application, revocation and denial of application, and lastly, the sanctions and penalties.
