
In accordance with one of the main objectives of Atiwa East District Assembly which is to collaborate with other government and non-governmental bodies in the development of the district. In furtherance to this, the Assembly invited various stakeholders on July 24th, 2024, to hand-over dual desks to the District Education Directorate for onwards distribution to Schools in dire need. The programme commenced at 10:00 am at the forecourt of the Assembly complex.
The event witnessed the presence of the District Chief Executive in the person of Hon. Kwabena Panin Nkansah, the District Coordinating Director in the person of Shakil Kpedau Mahamood, Ms. Lionel Peal Acquah the District Director for Education and her staff, some Assembly members, and staff.
More importantly, the Constituency executives of NPP came in their numbers to represent Hon. Abena Osei-Asare, Member of Parliament for the Constituency and Minister of State at the Finance ministry who lobbied for the furniture
In the remarks of the Hon. DCE, he indicated that the Assembly received the Furniture of 140 pieces from the Common fund, and GETFund. He indicated that a week ago about 600 dual desks were presented to the education Directorate by the MP which came from the Middle Belt Authority. The hon. DCE also acknowledged the presence of the stakeholders for their time and energy. He said, the Assembly is aware of some of the schools within the district do not have adequate furniture to ensure smooth teaching and learning. He commended the education director for prior notification of that situation and promised that something will be done about it.
The district director also acknowledges the receipt of the 140 student dua-desks from the district assembly via the support of the MP and honoring the promise the DCE made to her. She pledged to deliver these students dua-desks to the critical needed schools as soon as possible without any delay.
In addition to the acknowledgment, she urged the assembly to do their very possible best to continue to do more for the development and betterment of our children, and the other promises which are pending will also see the day light.
