
In reference to the Ministry of information to embark on a series of Regional Townhall meetings and Exhibition across all the 16 regions of Ghana purposely to foster the enhancement of citizen engagement in democratic governance, once again conducted the Eastern regional townhall meeting and exhibition on the September 3rd, 2024 at the Center for National Culture, Koforidua.
Reason(s) for the conduct of the exercise was to ensure accountability, decentralize government communication for which is part of the initiative effort of the Ministry for information, and to showcase the achievement of the government towards developmental growth and prosperity within the 8 years period.

The event witnessed the presence of the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, Hon. Fatimatu Abubakar the Minister for Information, Dr. Alex Ampaabeng the Deputy Minister for Finance, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare the presidential advisor for health, and all the 32 MMDA’s spread across the Eastern region with their District Chief Executive’s and District Coordinating Director’s, and District information officers, and the Right to Information officers, the media, friends and families.
With the profound gratitude and support from the Hon. DCE Lawyer Kwabena Panin Nkansah, the DCD Mr. Shakil Mahamood Kpedua and other heads of department, Atiwa East District Assembly happens to be part of the townhall meeting and exhibition.
Mr. Prince Obeng Donkor, the designated Right to information officer and Mr. Kofi Asempa Frederick the District information officer of the Department of Information Service, 62 completed and ongoing projects conducted on the soil of Atiwa East District for the past 5 tom 6 years under the current ruling government were displayed, showcasing the prosperity since the establishment of the assembly in the year 2018 by this Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffu-Addo the president of Ghana.
Mr. Prince Obeng in his presentation during to exhibition to the dignitaries said that, after Atiwa East was carved out from Kwabeng District in the western part of Atiwa, and was inaugurated at the year 2018 to the current date, Atiwa East now possess 19 newly constructed educational infrastructures, 1 newly constructed district circuit court complex, 7 newly completed and ongoing administration complexes, 13 newly completed and ongoing constructed health infrastructural projects, 9 newly completed project attributing to the market, water and sanitation, 7 newly completed telecommunication mast, 5 newly completed and ongoing roads and 1 newly ultra-modern orphanage complex completed by the Qatar Charity Foundation in collaboration with the District Assembly situated at Kwadewaso community.
In addition, the officer said, all 62 projects are entirely spread out to all the 4 area councils. Some major projects made emphasis on by the RTI officer to the dignitaries during the exhibition and to say “Ayekooo”, were newly constructed ongoing ultra-modern Trauma hospital situated at Anyinam which is the capital town of Atiwa East, the 40-bed Mother and Child hospital center also situated at Enryesi, the ultra-modern modern assembly complex, and the TVET complex at Anyinam.
The very last emphasis made by the officer was the Tini Waterfalls situated at Adasawase community in Anyinam Area council and pleaded with the government via the Minister for information and the Eastern Regional Minister to the Ministry of Tourism Arts and Culture to develop the premises of Tini Water fall to meet the required standard.
