As part of efforts to ensure quality and standard compliance in Public infrastructure Projects, a technical team from the Atiwa East District Assembly conducted a thorough inspection of the newly constructed 6-Unit Classroom Block with Ancillary facilities for Anyinam Model Girls Primary School Complex on Friday, August 29, 2025.

The team, led by the Head of Works Department and Development Planning officer from the Assembly, visited the school complex two weeks ahead of the official handover ceremony to assess the facility’s readiness for use.

The inspection formed part of the Assembly’s standard project completion protocol, aimed at ensuring that educational infrastructure funded from DACF-RFG strictly conforms to the specifications in the Bill of Quantities, safety regulations and requirements such as its conformity to the Disability laws..

According to the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Shakil Mahamood Kpedau, the inspection was very critical before the official transfer of the property to the Ghana Education Service for use. He noted that the team was tasked with assessing not only the structural integrity of the building but also the functionality of facilities such as:

• Classrooms and their finishing

• Washroom facilities

• Electrical installations

• Furniture and fittings

• Water and sanitation systems

• Safety and security measures

Speaking to the Information Services Department (ISD) after the site visit, Mr. Kpedau commended the contractors for adhering to timelines and quality specifications. “We are very satisfied with the overall work. The structural integrity can’t be questioned, the structure is child-friendly, and conducive for academic activities. This project is a major boost for girl-child education in the district,” he stated.

The Head of Works Department, who was also part of the inspection team, noted that only a few minor adjustments were recommended, mainly related to landscaping, some fittings and fixtures. These were expected to be addressed promptly before the official handing over and subsequent commissioning.

The Anyinam Model Girls Primary School Complex is one of the flagship educational infrastructure projects initiated under the District Assembly’s development plan for 2024–2025. It is strategically located to serve pupils from Anyinam and neighboring communities, with a focus on improving enrollment and retention among girls.

The successful inspection paved the way for the project to be handed over to the Atiwa East Education Directorate, and eventually, to the school’s management.

The Assembly will continue to prioritize high standards in public infrastructure delivery, ensuring that every facility meets the needs of the communities it is intended to serve.
