On the 15th of November, 2023, Atiwa East District Assembly led by the Honourable DCE, Kwabena Panin Nkansah with his right hand, the DCD in the person of Mr. Shakil Mahamood Kpedau together engaged the chief of Osorase-krobomu and his elders together with the people of community. The purpose of the engagement was to commission a three-unit modern classroom block.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony the DCE Hon Kwabena Panin Nkansah reminded the people gathered the very bad state of the classroom block and how several complains was brought forth before him through the assemblyman. Due to the several complains, he was compelled to instruct the engineers at the assembly to have a look at the situation and bring feedback and indeed it was a true reflection of the several complains brought forth before him at the office. The DCE made a promise to the assemblyman, to the chief and elders of the community to renovate the entire school block due to the report brought to him by the engineers which will be financed by the District Common Fund and Responsive Factor Grant (DCF-RFG). From the month of October, 2023 November, 2023, the entire school block was renovated which was a testament to the DCE expectation as promised. In addition, to the very eyes of the DCE witnessing another ongoing classroom block constructed by OLAM construction company and seek for clarity of the use of the facility after completion from the stakeholders of the community
In responds to the DCE question by the stakeholders after his presentation, the newly renovated classroom block done by the assembly will be allocated to the primary students and that of the newly ongoing OLAM classroom block will allocated to the kindergartens. For both party’s concords to what was said at the event as to the usage of the two classroom facilities.
Before the cutting of sword of the newly renovated classroom facilities at Osorase-krobomu community, the event witnessed few questions from the stakeholders of which some are most female newly teachers transferred to the community returning back after stepping their foot to the community for the first time, and tarring of the road leading to the community.
The District Education Director in the person of Ms. Perl Leonel Acquah quickly responded that, most often it may be as a result of the community environment not conducive for her to stay and be secure, or the difficulty in searching for an apartment within the community, or the long distance to the community. She also gave a recommendation to the stakeholders to welcome such transferred female teachers upon their arrival and take it upon themselves to look for an apartment for them, and if even strength is there providing them with little foodstuffs for couple of days or weeks. By doing this will at least will offload certain burden of them when it comes to searching for an apartment or looking for a place to buy foodstuffs, compels them to tune their minds to have a good thought about the community.
She even added that, the assemblyman and the elders in the community can use the very attractive sites found within the community as a way of making them stay since most female love to see good things. She concluded by saying that the government will always them to such places and yes indeed, the government is trying their very best to make communities living comfortable but the community have a role to play to make them stay in such communities.
A cutting of sword of the newly renovated classroom facilities at Osorase-krobomu community was done by both parties. Keys to the school facilities was given to the Education Directorate by the Assembly. The DED, DCE and DCD in the person of Mr. Shakil Mahamood Kpedau had an interaction with the entire students and the teachers separately and edged the students to listen to their teachers always, and read their books if they want to have a very bright future.
